Medicaid State Plan Agreement

Medicaid State Plan Agreement

To better serve the health of 72 million Americans including children and adults, the federal and state governments establish an agreement on how states administer their Medicaid and CHIP programs. This ensures that states abide by federal rules to claim federal matching funds for its program activities. eSimplicity helps CMS streamline the Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA) approval process by accelerating the development of the SPA functionality within the Medicaid and CHIP program (MACPro), making the approval process less burdensome for the states. The MACPro system contains the Health Home State Plan and the sections of the Medicaid State Plan that include Eligibility and Administration.
